Some props:
To keep joints flexible, stay active. Sedentary life can stiffen your joints.
Light exercises like swimming, walking, yoga, aerobic exercises, light physical exercises etc. can be immensely helpful.
Try to keep the body warm. Wear appropriate clothes. To help avoid flare ups, keep warm affected parts with appropriate clothe protection.
Blood circulation is important. Some use heating pads, blankets, heat therapy etc.
Eat anti-inflammatory foods. Consult your physician who can guide you on your diet. It is suggested that fatty fish like salmon, greens, berries, and turmeric will be helpful.
To keep hydration, drink enough water.
Avoid stress, particularly mental stress. Meditation, yoga (especially shavasana), and Vipasana (Buddhist meditation techniques) etc. have been found as good stress reliever by those who have used them.
No wonder, ancient monks living solitary life found meditation and contemplation as a good stress reliever. Today, monks, priests, nuns and sadhus use this technique quite beneficially to alleviate stress related complications.
