Theme: ‘Our Nurses. Our Future’
Come May 12, we commemorate the birth anniversary of the world’s first noted health care giver, Florence Nightingale.
As we honour her as the founder of modern nursing, we celebrate the vibrant presence of our modern nightingales in our lives. Most often, they are the unsung heroes and heroines who give us hope and endurance along with their loving healthcare!
They show us a rainbow when, in despair, our eyes blink!
They point to the silver lining in the dark cloud when our hearts sink!
They are beside every patient, day in, day out, 24/7. We salute them, bravehearts!
We are reminded today that there is a deficit of 4.5 million nurses. Can AI and robots step in where angels fear to tread? They can, and they will.
But the million dollar question is: In the AI/ robotic world, will there be the heart-throbbing vibrations of a nurse with her emotional outreach of loving tender care?
A machine is, after all, a machine. And a human nurse is a human nurse. She is all tender loving care!
Nurses are the little twinkling stars in the celestial dome of our life.
