Ayushman Yojana is India government’s health promotion scheme.
Meant as a health insurance scheme, it aims to provide free health insurance coverage for low income earners in the country.
It provides up to Rs. 5 lakh per family per year for specialised treatment or hospitalisation in listed hospitals, both public and private.
The privilege is also extended to all senior citizens aged 70 or above.
The registration is online. On registration, you get ABHA number.
ABHA number is a 14 digit number that will uniquely identify you as a participant in India’s digital healthcare system.
One can create Ayushman Bharat Health Account – ABHA Number by registering on the net. It is a unique identity number.
Go to the web site and type: create ABHA number. The portal will open and follow instructions.
