Mother Earth is groaning,
Who cares!
Our human carelessness
Is heating up Mother Earth,
Who cares!
Our polluted life style
The waste heaps of luxurious living,
Who cares!
We fill the environmet
With smoke, dust and filth,
Who cares!
We overexploit nature’s resources
We demand too much
And give little in generosity,
Who cares!
When will sense and sensibility prevail?
We destroy green cover
And preach about planting of saplings!
We dump our luxury waste into rivers
And cry foul:
Ganga is polluted
Yamuna is polluted,
Haere, hai!
What hypocrisy?
We set fire under our feet
And cool us with coolers!
What a contradiction!
When will sense and sensibility prevail?
Are we ordering a cooler for mother earth?
Or planning to send her to hell
To cool her heels?
