Hemophilia is a rare, generally inherited genetic  blood disorder.
It does not allow or it slows down blood clotting, and thereby results in an increased risk of bleeding and bruising.

Hemophilia, according to medical science, occurs due to the body’s lack of blood clotting factors or proteins that are needed to promote clotting.

These factors work with platelets to form blood clots. If blood does not clot, it results in continuous bleeding.

Based on the amount of clotting factors, hemophilia can be severe, moderate, or mild.

There is no permanent cure for hemophilia. However, treatment is given to promote clotting factors. It is said that patients may live as long as others if they receive treatment.

It is reported that India does not have a national policy to prevent and control genetic disorders. The question is why genetic disorders are accorded low priority in India.
