Homeopathy is a very useful alternative medical system.
The world honours Dr Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician as the founder of modern Homeopathy, though this system is said to date back to the 5th century BC practiced in Greece
Today being his birth anniversary, it is fitting that Homeopathy Day is celebrated today.

Homeopathy is derived from two Greek words: Homoi meaning similar and Pathos meaning suffering or disease.
Homeopathic system is based on the principle: ‘Like cures like’.

This principle means that “if a substance is capable of causing, it is also capable of curing.”

Homeopathic medicine is prepared from substances like plants, animal products, minerals etc. Homeopathy uses these substances with the notion that they treat the whole person taking into consideration the person’s physical, mental, emotional, psychological make up and living habits.

Dr Samuel Hahnemann was born in Germany on April 10, 1755. From his experiments and researchers he came to understand that, instead of chemical based medicines, homeopatic medicine was more effective even with small doses and less costly.
