National Science Day in India honours scientist Dr. C. V. Raman. His discovery of light effect and alteration in wavelength when scattered by molecules helped scentific advancement. He won the nobel Prize in physics in 1930.

The universe functions on a scientific principle. So is earth’s rotation or the movement of planets. We all need scientific undetstanding. Even a matchstick has its own scientific principle.

When people understand the importance of scientific knowledge and advancement, superstition will take a back seat.

It is unfortunate that even legislators and politicians advocate unscientific notions and practices. Religious fanatics and fundamentalists want to make us blindly follow their unscientific rites and rituals.
You are told to eat animal dung to kill cancer cells. There are still so many unscientific practices based on superstition among village folks.

Education and a scientific temper can dispel unscientific elements and forces from our life.
