The World Day of Social Justice is also known as Social Justice and Equality day.

The purpose is to inculcate in ourselves the need to promote social justice in all spheres. Starting with ourselves, our homes and institutions, our places and spaces of engagement with human beings, including village communities.

Hence, to preach and promote should follow a process of justice at the homebase.

We also notice many justice aberrations affecting people’s lives at national and international levels.

Raising voice against all such inequalities does not mean we are hypocrites because we seem to have rotten eggs on our cuboard. In such cases all preaching or promoting peace should come to a standstill.

It is good for the skeptics to understand that a preacher does not preach to others only but, in fact, his index finger will be pointing to himself, while his forefinger is directed at others. We are all in the same boat.

So, while those who attempt to promote justice and equality are also in a purifying process.

Therefore, let us not sit on our haunches, but do the little bit we can to stand in solidarity with those who are denied justice and equality.

The UN General Assembly in 2007 reminded us of the need to build a fairer and more equitable world and to urge all efforts to combat unemployment, social exclusion, and poverty.
