The Press is a voice expressed in concern for progress and development, for peace and fellowship. As the fourth pillar of democracy, it is meant to uphold and promote democratic values and constitutional principles.
It has the responsibility to help improve the democratic functioning of the governmnent by offering valuable and critical opinions.

When the press abdicates this, it becomes ‘ godi media’, crawling for crumbs before the mighty and the weighty.

An intolerant government, afraid of being exposed for its misdeeds, hypocrisy and inefficiency, will oppose and manacle free press and cultivate crawlwers and court poets.
We have seen much and experience much in this area.

A free press is a must for peace and progress, for national integration and international relationships.
