World Kindness Day, as an international observance,  was introduced in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement, a coalition of kindness NGOs.

Kindness is an empathetic act devoid of any self interest . It is a reaching out gesture towards someone in need.

Genuine kindness acts without borders, without distinction or discrimination. Such acts may not look for propaganda about one’s helping others.

Jesus Christ said: your left hand should not know what your right hand is doing. That means a charitable help is not a showy act to invite applause.
“But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.” (Matthew 6.:3)

Some treat the poor or the needy as their victims of help. We see politicians sitting in the huts of the poor and eating food. All done under the glare of the camera and for advertising their so called act of kindness! Even the food may have been ordered from some hotel.

A smart runner athlete stopped in his tracks to lift up an athlete fallen while runnig.

We often see people giving something to somone in ‘kindness’ and waiting for the camera to click. They keep on looking at the camera till the click is done.
