Chacha Nehru, an icon
and role model for children!
The Children’ Day reminds even a senior citizen of his/her childhood. It teaches us all to respect even little children. It is a great day!
Children’s day, as a special occasion, is celebrated on the 14th November, every year. It marks the birth anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru who was also fondly called as Chacha Nehru.
With the celebration of Children’s day, this year, the country will also celebrate the 131st birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Nehruji had a special bond with children. He not only advocated children’s right to a fulfilling childhood, but also passed a resolution in the Indian Parliament in 1964 to celebrate November 14th as Children’s day.
He used to spend time with children every day. It gave him immense joy, and he shared his love with children around him. He was ever youthful in the company of children. He remains a perennial icon and a role model for children the world over.
