National Doctors’ Day is a day celebrated globally to appreciate     the contributions of physicians to our lives.

Especially in this Covid pandemic time, they sacrifice their life to tend to patients who are between life and death.

In India we celebrate it on every first of July to honour the birth and death anniversary of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. Roy was a dedicated physician, philanthropist, and social activist.  He was the second Chief Minister of Bengal in eastern India.

It is said, ‘medicine bridges the gap between science and society.’ We trust the doctors and entrust our sick lives to their discreet judgement and treatment. We trust them for their knowledge, skill, and capability.

Doctors, men and women in medical profession, are heroes and heroines who keep the world breathing and moving ahead with energy and hope.

Quacks and unscientific medical practitioners, who feed on people’s ignorance, need to be marginalised. Let us not entrust our precious lives to them.
