Our elders, our seniors, our aged parents, our elderly neighbours, and all elderly persons are our co-passengers.  They live up to the old age to show us the way. They are our guides, our guardians and our well wishers who deserve our respect, our love, our concern and our care.

We are here now because our elders are there to accompany us. They have weathered the storms of life; they have often gone untrodden paths so that we may live comfortably, believe it not!

Shall we dump them in old age homes and just pay their room rent? Our shut them up in care homes and visit once a year for their birthday? Or command their lives with bare necessities? Such is the reality today.

Let us remember that they have their needs and rights. They have been the path-breakers in our life. We need to reach out to them with affection and understanding; accompany them with care and concern.
