World Blood Donor Day is celebrated each year on 14 June. The aim is to encourage voluntary blood donation to save lives.

Theme for 2021 – Give Blood and keep the world-beating.

“It’s good to be blessed. It’s better to be a blessing.” — Unknown

All over the world, millions of lives are saved through blood donation.

Blood donation is a humanitarian act. It improves sick people’s health. It saves lives.

‘A few minutes to you, but a life-time for the receiver!’ It brightens a person and heartens his/her spirit.

Blood has only one colour. Hence, do not have caste and class feelings when you receive blood or give blood.

Let life-saving be our reason to donate blood. There is no risk for contracting disease.

The minimum interval between two donations is 12 weeks. Blood donation is safe for healthy adults. Tattooed persons can give blood only after six months of getting tattooed.

“Making a donation is the ultimate sign of solidarity. Actions speak louder than words.” — Ibrahim Hooper
