Because they can’t find food and water?

Why no food and water?

Because their forest sanctuaries are desecrated by us humans. We have encroached on their peaceful existence. Because of our poaching mentality.

Why do we poach?

Because we think only human beings have the right of free play, the right of dominance.

The result?

The result is that we deform forests. We denude them. We steal and loot forest wealth. We turn forests into wastelands and hills into mines and quarries. Springs dry up. No food available. No a drop of water. All green cover shaved off. No songs of birds heard!

Animals are hunted in the sacred name of cultural annual hunt. The few that are left feel hungry.  Feel thirsty. Feel cheated. Feel they have to move out of such suffocating situations. Why blame them?

What are possible solutions?

Do not attack them. Do not show fire and flame before them unless you want to face their fury.

They enjoy a good sip or two. Especially your mahua essance and your fermented rice beer. Store them in your homes at your risk unless you want an elephantine guest to join you for a gulp.

In emergency, call up the Forest Department.

Remember, there are no wild animals. We tag them wild. We ostracize them into forests and gorges. Animals and other species can be friends, unless you threaten them with arrogance and dominance.

Think twice before you venture into the forest to loot and shoot. Nature’s wealth is not just for you and me only. All species have their God-given right to exist. Time for human dominance is over. Peaceful co-existence of all beings on this planet earth is the key.
