The United Nations came into existence on Oct 24, 1945. The scourge of two world wars had taught the world leaders the lesson that another war would be totally disastrous. Hence, they came together and formed the UN.
Its aims are: save humanity from the scourge of war, affirm faith in human rights and promote them, facilitate conditions for justice and for observance of international legal obligations, promote social progress, and economic welfare in all countries.
UN Intervention needed.
Today, the world is engulfed in conflagrations of violence, destruction of human lives, perpetuation of poverty, thwarting of democratic principles by governments, democracies turning autocracies, secular nations turning religious fundamentalist, class-caste phenomenon, and increasing atrocities on the Dalits, the indigenous and the voiceless masses. That is where the UN should intervene by creating atmosphere for populations to live in peace and harmony.
