We human beings, being part and parcel of God’s crated realities, have an important role. With our intelligence, our reflective capacity, our powers of discernment and the like we are able to guide and promote the welfare of creation.
Today this creation is groaning. It is groaning out of suffocation. We humans seem to over-assert our powers of governance by dominating over nature.
We wrongly think we have to dominate over nature. The Creator God does not expect this from us. Our role is to accompany creation to its safe destiny.
We are creation’s co-travellers. We share the pleasantness of our presence to each other along the journey to creation’s destiny. We help towards mutual growth.
If we are selfish, if we do not use our intelligence and discernment properly, we become grabbers. We grab from nature for our selfish needs. We overexploit creation. Then we throw the waste back to nature. We pollute creation. We choke and bleed it. For our momentary pleasure!
Shall we not shoulder our human responsibility and use our intelligence properly for the overall benefit of creation. The security of our destiny will be shaped by the secure destiny of creation. Let us be promoters, not business dealers, not agenda pushers!
