This year’s theme is Biodiversity.
Nature is a beautiful poem by God penned with rainbow colours of bio-diversity on our Planet.
He has placed nature’s diverse colours in the form of leaves and plants, tendrils and flowers, barks and stem, animals and birds, flies and insects in the midst of hills and valleys, meadows and prairies- all these are beautiful gifts to us.
The foods we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink, the climate we enjoy are in nature. With them we survive, we live, and we have our ongoing existence.
The more we care for the upkeep and sustainable use of nature, the more humanity will benefit.
We often are overpowered by our grabbing nature. We grab from nature for our greed and overuse. Thereby we create problems for ourselves and for nature itself.
Climatic variations, floods, draughts, invasions of locusts and pests, uncontrollable fire, heat wave, oceanic outburst, cloud burst, pestilence and disease – all these and more are mostly due to our overuse or destruction of biodiversity. It means upsetting the balance of nature!
God is not responsible for such imbalance. It is we solely responsible. Hence, it is a wakeup call to maintain nature’s balance in biodiversity.
Nature has its own identity. God-given identify. Our human vocation is to respect this identity in toto. To promote bio-diversity!
Let us acknowledge with gratitude the generous gift of bio-diversity by the Creator God.
Let us listen to nature’s wake up call to care for nature’s diversity! And thereby care for ourselves!
