Today we acknowledge and reiterate that our earth is a world family. Black or white, brown or yellow, male or female, we all belong to the same human family. Whatever be our regional differences due to landscape, panorama or cultural aspects, we have the same root with the same family tree.

Let us acknowledge this prime factor. Let us not look at others with the squint eye of suspicion, hatred, or ill will. People may belong to different religions. That is their preferred choice. That is their divine right. No fundamentalist dictation to people as to whom to worship or what to eat or what to wear should have an iota of place in human society.  No big brother attitude to people by treating them as low class, low caste or poor or middle class or rich. Wealth or social position should not be a denominator to assess people and their worth.

All family members of this globe have freedom of choice, freedom of religion, freedom of expression and freedom to conduct their affairs. No one shall interfere with this fundamental freedom. The right to equality is a fundamental human right. Therefore, governments and those in authority should provide opportunities to facilitate this right. Differences at the level of intelligence or capabilities should not be the criterion not to extend the right to equality to people. Rich or poor, big or low, mighty or hefty, all are equally protected by the law and deserve the right to get the benefit of legal justice.

Let us hope that 2017 will be a happy and peaceful year for all of us as we shall live together as brothers and sisters of the same global human family.
